Butler

Duties and responsibilities:
Overseeing the correct layout, change-over and upkeep of table service for breakfast, lunch and evening meals
Serving food and drinks, ensuring proper service at all times
Maintaining and cleaning valuable silverware, fine porcelain and crystal ware
Managing and maintaining employers' wardrobe (arranging repairs, specialist cleaning etc)
Preparing luggage, packing / unpacking if required
Managing stock and supply operations, in particular of high value commodities such as fine wines, cigars etc
Managing and supervising the creation and upkeep of floral displays (when required)
Understanding, promoting and defending household protocols among staff and guests
Maintaining exhaustive, up-to-date inventories of valuables
Welcoming guests

Requirements for the role:
Must have experience working in a private household
Preferably some formal butler training
Positive, verifiable references
Ability to provide formal service
Fluent English
Ability to travel with the family when required
Positive, discreet and conscientious
Motivated and willing to work as part of a team
Hands on presence
Attention to detail

Salary in the region of £55k -£65k GPA.
Days/Hours: 5 or 6 days per week (salary prorated accordingly) - days off during the week
Hours : 10 hours per day (split shift with 2 hour break) covering with another 2 butlers
