Interview Date: 07/08/2023

Are you organised, like to work to an established process and like all the loose ends tied up, can make order out of chaos? Perhaps this is the post for you.

We are looking to recruit a Contract Support Officer in the Commissioning Support Unit (CSU). The role supports the contract functions of All Age Commissioning, which forms part of the Community Wellbeing Directorate of the council.

All Age Commissioning is responsible for a diverse spectrum of commissioning projects and initiatives for Community Wellbeing, Children's Social Care and Public Health. Contract values range from small spend values to high cost budgets. The collection of data from established systems enables the CSU to operate and function in real time - key attributes for good commissioning outcomes.

The Commissioning Support Unit oversees several functions including Adults Brokerage, Children's Home Finding, and Quality Assurance for Adults & Children's services as well all contract support. You’ll be part of a small but friendly, professional recognised and supportive team.

This role will give you a first stage insight into Commissioning, with a wider scope for career progression.

In the role itself you will be responsible for:

- To support, monitor and review contractual and partnership arrangements, often working with Senior Commissioning Officers, Service Providers and Stakeholders - where effective communication is essential.
- To support the preparation, checking, distributing and recording/filing of all contract documentation, thus ensuring robust audit trails are in place and clear.
- To co-ordinate payment arrangements to the right people at the right time.
- To support and co-ordinate commissioning related projects, including emergency response, particularly where commissioned or registered providers are involved.
- To develop and maintain effective and efficient internal systems, data trackers, contract performance intelligence, standard operating processes and procedures.
- commitment to providing a quality service is expected and innovation is welcome

The skills required to be successful in this role:

- You will be able to collate and analyse information, producing appropriate reports from that information to help inform contract management and performance.
- The role requires you to have excellent numerical, written and oral communication skills.
- You will have excellent interpersonal and influencing skills and ability to build relationships and work collaboratively to meet business requirements.

**Benefits of working for Herefordshire Council**:

- A competitive salary, generous holiday entitlement, and access to our contributory pension and staff benefits scheme, which includes:

- **Pension **Scheme Enrolment in the Local Government (LGPS)
- **Generous Annual Leave**: 26 days’ annual leave (pro rata) plus bank holidays. After five years’ continuous service, this increases to 31 days (pro rata) plus bank holidays. You can also purchase an additional 10 days per annum
- **Flexible working**:flexi-time, job-share, part-time hours and, in some instances, home working
- **Employee Assistance Programme**: 24/7 access to support and counselling
- Payment of **professional membership fees**:

- **Pick your perks **- our benefits include access to a range of retail, leisure, holiday and health benefits. This includes savings, cash back and discounts.

We welcome applicants whatever their personal characteristics or social identity. All requests for flexible working arrangements and reasonable adjustments will be considered.
- Those who indicate that they have a disability. This is part of our commitment to the “Disability Confident” scheme;
- Those who indicate in their supporting statement that they are an Armed Forces Veteran or Reservist. This is part of our pledge to support the Armed Forces Covenant; and
- Those who indicate in their supporting statement that they are a Herefordshire care leaver. This is part of our commitment to supporting young people leaving our care.
