A school in Merton are searching for a SEN Teaching Assistant who are ready to become part of a hardworking team, and eager to make a difference in the students education. The school environment is a major reason why the students are always progressing well in their academic studies. The school promotes hands-on learning, which encourages the students to interact with each other, and learn through physical activities, making their academic studies more exciting. The school is in a convenient area, seen as it is easy to commute to due to their being easy access to public transport.

This job role will include general tasks that a SEN Teaching Assistant would take on throughout the day, however you will be specifically working with a student who is in year 4 and has ADHD and mild autism. This student has trouble focusing for a long period of time, therefore your role would include finding ways to make learning fun and interactive, so the student becomes more engaged in their lessons. Another tasks that you will be doing is taking this student out of class and working one to one, supporting them with numeracy and literacy skills, keeping record of their progress, and establishing where they need to improve. Children with ADHD are more likely to have low self
- esteem, therefore you will need the ability to be sensitive and understanding towards their emotional, physical and mental needs.
