We are looking for an ambitious, confident, and creative User Interface Design System Specialist to join our UI Team. You’ll work in our friendly and collaborative team to create, maintain, and develop our UI Design System used to design and develop our Currys websites.

**Key Role Responsibilities**
- Design and maintain our UI design system, ensuring output is consistent and aligned to overall Currys brand look and feel
- Implement and maintain processes for scaling, updating, and managing the design system
- Create and maintain end user documentation, covering standards and best practices of our component library as a reference for designers and developers
- Work closely with developers and designers to guide the development and improvement of our design system
- Work with designers to consolidate the UI direction across an ecosystem of products
- Utilise data, research, and user feedback to inform design decisions
- Manage multiple projects in a fast-paced retail environment
- Be the champion of the design system within the UI team and wider ecommerce team, helping to understand possibilities and limitations.
- Understand best practices and standards in design methodologies and processes, including accessibility
- Present and justify design decisions to all levels of the business, taking feedback on board to iterate and improve design output.

**Key Skills, Qualifications & Experience**
- Experience working on UI design systems
- Familiar with creating user-focused UI designs with a portfolio to showing your design process and covering all responsive device sizes
- Exceptional design skills, covering layout, colour, and typography
- Desire to help shape and nurture a growing design practice and discipline
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Knowledge of user testing and design prototyping
- Proficiency in a range of design tools, including Figma, Zeplin, & Photoshop
- Understanding of front-end web technologies (HTML and CSS)
- Experience working in an e-commerce environment
- Working knowledge of W3C Accessibility standards

**Desirable experience**
- Experience working with offshore development teams
- Knowledge of Agile and Scrum development methodologies, working in sprints with backlogs and feature sets
- Experience using Confluence and Jira
