My client is a fast growing business, they doubled turnover last year (to £7M), and they recently have had teams working in 4 continents around the world.

Later this year they shall be moving into a brand new industrial unit in yeovil

We are looking for a 'Financial Controller'. (It is both Project Cost Control and Financial Control) - this is a brand new role and a great opportunity

They currently use Excel spreadsheets a lot for managing project costs, and they want to move all their financial controls and reporting onto Sage 50, so they are looking for strong Excel and Sage 50 skills/experience.

Salary £35K-£40K.

37.5 hours per week

On completion of probation, 5% contribution to pension from the company + WPA Cash Plan.

We are looking to appoint someone for this position by end August ideally

Financial Controller

Job Purpose

This is a key role to help support the current rapid growth of the company. Using Sage 50 as the main tool to ensure that the company sets up and controls operational project pricing and costs to meet agreed profitability targets.

Measures of Success

-Accurate weekly reports on all company financial and contract matters are prepared on time.

-Sage 50 accurately reports the current value (GP) and Work-In-Progress of all contracts

-Good credit control.
- Stock values match the balance sheet

-Head of Finance feels well supported

Position in the Organisation

The Financial controller reports to the Head of Finance (HOF) and will deputise for the HOF during periods of absence.

Accountability

Setting up, entering data, and reporting each week all Company Contract information in Sage 50.

Taking a lead in setting up and managing stock in Sage 50

Managing the company Price Lists and adjusting to maintain margin according to the prevailing foreign currency exchange rates

Verifying the larger sales proposals for Operational ROV inspection Services (ORIS)

Work alongside the sales and operations teams to ensure the contract terms are set up properly and project costs are monitored to achieve planned profitability.

Issue Customer monthly statements and chase any overdue accounts Manage and report stock in Sage 50

Attend and contribute to weekly contract review

Managing Stock and Contracts in Sage 50 are new to the company, so this will require more time initially until the systems are set up.
