**Job overview**:
Are you a qualified Educational Mental Health Practitioner (EMHP)? Are you looking for a 'sea change' and to work within a service who are truly committed to early intervention? If so then we want to hear from you.

The Mental Health Support Team (MHST) in Cornwall is an NHS service which works within school settings to provide early intervention for primary school children who are experiencing difficulties such as low mood and anxiety. We also support education staff in implementing strategies across the whole school to try to ensure that children's wellbeing is supported and promoted throughout school life.

We are looking to expand and reinforce our existing dedicated and skilled teams with practitioners who have already completed their training as Educational Mental Health Practitioners (EMHP's).

Vacancies are available within teams across both west & east Cornwall. This includes in the Penwith area (Penzance / St Ives / Hayle). In the East of Cornwall we have vacancies in the Upper Tamar region.

Our service offer combines direct intervention using LICBT with a strong commitment to supporting schools to implement the Whole School Approach. As we increase our number of qualified practitioners we continue to invest in our staff and our service with a clear ongoing commitment to supporting the EMHP role though regular CPD and well established supervisory structures.

Interviews are currently planned to be held in mid / late Jan in the St Austell area of Cornwall.

**Main duties of the job**:
The MHST is a service designed to help meet the mental health needs of children and young people in education settings. The MHST is made up of senior clinicians who act as supervisors and managers and Education Mental Health Practitioners (EMHPs). They are based across education settings as an additional resource within a whole-system approach to promote resilience and wellbeing, support earlier intervention, enable appropriate sign posting and deliver evidence-based support, care and interventions. The MHSTs partner with their education settings to design a bespoke offer, based on the school’s individual needs and will work with the mental health services that are already in place, such as counselling, educational psychology, school nurses, pastoral care, educational welfare officers, Voluntary Services the local authority,
