**Autism Outreach Advisor**:
We are currently recruiting an experienced Outreach advisor with Schools experience.

The opportunity to work in a highly valued NAS accredited team as an outreach adviser in collaboration with the allocated teacher across primary and secondary schools in Lewisham. Your role would include providing advice, support and interventions for children and young people with social communication differences including those with a diagnosis of Autism and other umbrella diagnoses, in order to promote and support meaningful inclusion in mainstream settings.

This post is term time only and flexibility is expected around our offer of daytime and evening workshops and courses. The post is five days per week, 39 weeks per year.

Drumbeat is more than a school, it is a hub for (autism) support for Lewisham. It takes a leading role in the provision of outreach support for children (and their families) in mainstream schools and Early Years Centres.

This post is to work in our purpose-built school with its ground breaking facilities, visiting other schools across the South East. We are continually striving to develop our work with our pupils, parents and carers, the local community and the schools we provide specialist support though our Outreach team and the training we offer. The school is committed to being a Centre of Excellence. The vision for Drumbeat is for its staff to work in transdisciplinary ways - professionals working together seamlessly to meet the needs of the child or young person, putting the child and family at the centre.

Manage a caseload of children, working in liaison with a specialist teacher to assess, support and advise professionals and parents/carers re educational provision for CYP

Plan and deliver training to parents and professionals under the guidance of a specialist teacher

Manage a diary of visits to settings

Write detailed advice around areas of strengths and needs, educational provision, desired outcomes and steps to achieving outcomes through appropriate provision and suggested strategies

To promote the social and emotional development of CYP with ASD

Build awareness, knowledge and understanding in partnership schools

Enable CYP to reach full potential academically and socially with the highest level of independence.

Support transition between all stages of education
