Temporary Cleaner

**Description of duties**

Job title: Cleaner

Job Purpose: To carry out contractual cleaning requirements ensuring excellent customer service and high quality standards are maintained.

**Main Duties - Cleaning**

1. Emptying waste bins or similar receptacles, transporting waste material to designated collection points.

2. Sweeping floors with brushes or dust control mops.

3. Mopping floors with wet or damp mops.

4. Suction cleaning carpeted areas and “spot” cleaning carpets.

5. To dust, damp wipe, wash or polish furniture, ledges, and window sills, external surfaces of cupboards, radiators, shelves and fitments.

6. To replenish consumable items (soap, toilet rolls, paper towels) if required within the contract.

7. To clean toilets, urinals, hand basins, sinks, baths, showers and drinking fountains.

8. All contact points to be cleaned & anti
- bac/sanitised.

9. All kitchen surfaces to be wiped down & disinfected, including inside microwave and/or ovens.

11. To undertake wall washing or inside window pane cleaning to a height no greater than body height plus an arm’s extension from floor level, during periodic cleaning maintenance programmes.

12. The use of chemical agents as directed by the Supervising Officer in the discharge of cleaning operations or maintenance procedures, after receiving proper instructions and training.

13. Attend and actively participate in training, supervision and team meetings.

14. To carry out any other reasonable duties within the overall function of the job.

**Health & Safety**

1. To maintain safe working practices at all times and ensure that statutory requirements are met.

2. To take responsibility for the safe conduct of work within your own work area.

3. To work within the parameters of set risk assessments and job method statements.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Temporary contract

**Salary**: £10.72 per hour
