**The Open Mental Alliance is growing from strength to strength and we are actively investing in our infrastructure and expanding our team. The VCFSE alliance was formed to develop a bold new community-based mental health support service for Somerset residents and Rethink Mental Illness is the lead accountable body for this alliance.**

**In 2019 Somerset received trailblazer funding to develop and implement new models of community based mental health care, that integrate clinical and voluntary sector provision, in line with the** NHS Long Term Plan** and the **NHS community mental health framework**. That model of care is now known as Open Mental Health and is delivered by a partnership between the NHS, social care, and a VCFSE alliance. The award winning Open Mental Health has received national recognition and is cited in NHSE guidance as an exemplar.**

As Quality and Service Improvement Officer you will work as part of the OMH Lead Accountable body[ Rethink] Business and Partnership Team to deliver operational quality assurance and service improvement support to existing and new services. This extends to the effective collection and presentation of data, project implementation and the monitoring and mobilisation of services. Reporting to the QSIM your focus is to ensure the effective engagement and tailored support to partners, to maintain accurate and timely data reporting, ensure positive working practices, processes and contractual compliance are adhered to. You will trouble shoot operational issues and find and broker solutions, escalating and reporting any concerns as necessary. You will monitor, contribute and inform the wider development of new and existing work streams, driving quality and performance standards whilst promoting and advocating a culture of change, and maintaining positive and transparent partnership relationships to achieve OMH strategy and growth aspirations.

**What I do and achieve**
- I provide operational day to day coordination, monitoring and administration of Open Mental Health contractual delivery and support, to ensure effective contract management, compliance, quality assurance/performance is maintained and effectively reported across all Somerset based funding streams, in a timely manner
- I provide operational support to implement and drive internal workstreams and projects to ensure continual development and improvement is maintained across the LAB delivery function.
- I coordinate existing and new project activities, including supporting the mobilisation of new contracts and services to ensure full compliance, KPI and reporting standards are achieved
- I record and monitor activity for reporting and continuous improvement.
- I monitor and support the development of wrap around systems and processes to deliver high quality assurance contractual governance, compliance and performance measures are maintained.
- I coordinate and support the recommendations of the internal audit annual audit program and monitor ongoing compliance
- I maintain and update a central log of quality assurance/data performance actions emerging from service audits, Workstream RAG reports and LAB chaired meetings to ensure they are followed up and actioned in a timely manner
- I receive, review and feedback on all partner data metrics for completeness and omissions, to ensure that reports can be generated to service the annual reporting timetable.
- I support the QSIM to collate, prepare and format data and documentation relating to service quality and performance, as necessary
- I act as the partners first point of “data” contact to troubleshoot and promote positive understanding, to ensure consistent and reliable data metric reporting and outcomes
- I effectively manage my own action lists to ensure tasks are completed, development work is delivered and capacity is available to support service performance responsively.
- I monitor and complete monthly actions to ensure the OMH Executive Group Risk Register [incl LAB] remains up to date and any identified risks are escalated and reported as necessary.
- I deputise for the QSIM at internal and external meetings as required
- I ensure that meaningful and sustainable co-production and involvement (with staff and service users) is embedded within my work.
- I will highlight and support the take up of opportunities for funding and commercial development to maximise OMH impact on the lives of people with severe mental illness.
- I work collaboratively with external organisations, internal colleagues and with people who use our services to identify best practice and contribute to design of service improvement activity.
- I maintain an up to date knowledge of the health, social care and VCSE landscape in Somerset.
