Acorn Recruitment is seeking Cleaners to provide a cleaning service to cover both schools and educational establishments throughout the Cardiff area.

About the job:

- The current work opportunities will be based within either schools or educational establishments.
- Although working times might vary slightly at some schools, typically, cleaners will work a minimum of 10 hours per week Monday to Friday.
- Morning shifts generally operate between 6:00am - 8.00am, with afternoon shifts between 3:15pm - 6:15pm.
- The job will comprise the undertaking of a variety of cleaning tasks in school buildings including dusting, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, polishing, hygiene cleaning, emptying bins and mechanical buffing.

Job Purpose:

- The role will be responsible for:

- Providing a high quality, value for money, customer focused on-site cleaning service.
- Working collaboratively with colleagues to ensure effective service delivery, share knowledge and keep working within service practices.

Duties and responsibilities:

- To ensure that all cleaning undertaken is to the required standard.
- To work at all times within the Health and Safety requirements and be aware of the necessary fire and evacuation procedures.
- To work safely and responsibly when using chemicals and be aware of and follow COSHH Regulations.
- To work at other locations within the city area as reasonably requested.
- To ensure that all cleaning equipment and materials are safely stored at the end of the cleaning shift.
- To undertake training as necessary.
- To act in a courteous and professional manner to all those with whom you have contact.
- To ensure that all problems or concerns are communicated through the Chargehand or Site Supervisor.
- Understand and implement instructions.
- Utilise all provided PPE when carrying out your duties and highlight any additional requirements.
- Ensure compliance with Council attendance & Wellbeing policy, including the sickness absence reporting.
- Actively participate in and support your colleagues with undertaking of the prescribed team cleaning regime.
- Work within the spirt of the employee's charter.
- While undertaking duties for the Council, treat all contacts with respect and conduct yourself in a professional manner as a representative of the cleaning Service.

No experience necessary as full training will be provided.

An enhanced DBS will be required.

£9.90 per hour
