The post holder is required to communicate and liaise with staff and members of partner organisations, produce work to deadlines whilst ensuring compliance with Health Board policies. This is a key supporting role in the effective running of the team, which includes the management of resources as part of the core duties.

The duties and responsibilities listed below are not intended to be exhaustive, but are set out to indicate the main areas of activity currently expected. The post holder will, therefore, be expected to adopt a flexible approach when the needs of the service require.

As an administrative Clerical Officer you will undertake the day to day administration of the service. You will be the first point of contact for health professionals, patients, their families and other agencies. You will assist in taking referrals, scheduling appointments, dealing with queries and inputting data on to patient management systems.

The role will require that you work in an established multidisciplinary team so you will need to be able to demonstrate good team working skills and behaviours, in addition to working autonomously.

We are looking for an individual who is self-motivated, organised and flexible in approach, with demonstrable experience. You should have a proven educational background, educated to a vocational level 3 in administration or equivalent. Advanced computer / keyboard skills, experience and knowledge of Microsoft office packages and excellent customer service skills are essential for this role. Previous NHS clerical experience and knowledge of clinical administration systems, such as Clinical Portal and Oracle is highly desirable for this post although training will be provided.
