As a Health & Safety (H&S) advisor, reporting into the EH&S Manager, you will help provide advice and support to the Shildon management team, allowing them to meet their statutory and regulatory H&S responsibilities and compliance.

You will have have an ability to obtain realistic, practical, workable, and cost-effective solutions to improve safety management and legal compliance throughout the site.

**Key Responsibilities**

1. Working with the EH&S Manager delivering all aspects of Health and Safety to the PPG Shildon business

2. Working with the site management teams, the departments and operational teams to implement a strategy to improve H&S.

3. Developing, monitoring and reporting on safety performance against measurements and improvement planning

4. Write EH&S procedures in accordance to ISO45001 Standard

5. Producing monthly H&S reports

6. Promoting and assisting with the awareness of the arrangements for H&S management and the implementation thereof including safety training in close liaison with the training specialist

7. Assist the EH&S Manager in ensuring the Shildon Management system(s) comply with UK legislation and periodically review the H&S management system. Deviations, gaps and improvement ideas must be reported and discussed with the Site Manager.

**Qualifications**
- H&S NEBOSH Certificate or Equivalent.
- Relevant experience working in a factory/process engineering environment
- Experience of writing procedures for the health and safety management system
