**School Cleaner required for Secondary School in Surrey**

At Engage Education Services, we’re currently recruiting for a School Cleaner in Surrey to work Monday - Friday, 27.5 hours a week

They are looking for a School Caretaker with experience managing a Secondary School campus.

Our Engage Education Services team specialises in the placement of non-classroom-based staff including Administrators, HR, Finance and Facilities.

About the role
- As a Day Janitor, you will be joining a highly effective Cleaning team.
- sanitising communal spaces and WC’s, undertaking light caretaking duties to ensure the school site is kept clean and tidy.
- operate basic equipment, and undertake manual handling and physical work.
- Support the safe movement of vehicles when on our school site.
- You will be ensuring the highest levels of cleanliness.

- Experience working within a school environment
- A valid DBS on the DBS update service
- Be available to interview and start immediately

Working hours are 25 hours per week, Term time only

About the role:
Our catering supervisor duties can include:

- Carry out domestic tasks and duties including but not limited to; cleaning, sanitising, vacuuming, laundry, emptying bins, carpet-cleaning, cleaning windows, dusting, wiping/washing walls and woodwork, sweeping external pathways and steps, tidying areas, sorting cupboards, and similar activities associated with good House Keeping.
- On occasion you may be asked to assist in cooking, baking, preparing meals, shopping, repairing soft furnishings, assisting in light-gardening and other activities in line with those of any household and that are necessary to maintain a safe, warm, healthy and ‘homely’ living and working environment, and models good parenting for our children.
- Actively engage in the task of being a member of the team in the home, and a member of the whole community that is The Lioncare Group.
- Be a Reflective Practitioner, able and willing to reflect on and self-evaluate your own actions and the impact of the work on you, and share this with others so as to engage all in a process of continuous learning, deeper understanding, and improvement.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues and the children and within the scope and limitations of the role, in setting and maintaining and reinforcing appropriate boundaries, to provide a sense of emotional containment, safety, order and belonging amongst all those living and working in the home.
- Demonstrate belief in the value of a Group-Living environment as a beneficial tool and a positive experience and actively assist in promoting and supporting and maintaining the group living-and-learning ethos of The Lioncare Group.
- Develop your capacity to contribute in a meaningful way to the Psychodynamic Assessments of Emotional Need and associated Relevant Plans for each child.

The ideal applicant will have:

- Experience of working as a cleaner or housekeeper
- A real passion for working within an education environment.
- Experience in cleaning and maintaining kitchen utensils.
- A DBS (Disclosure and Barring Check) registered with the DBS Update Service
