**POST**:Date Quality & Compliance Officer (MIS)**

(Permanent, Full-time, 01/08/2024 start)

**REPORTING TO**:Director of MIS**

**Job Summary**:The postholder will take an active role in providing a high quality, responsive management information service, ensuring the quality of learner data and submitting data returns in line with the requirements of funding agencies and monitoring bodies.

**Main Duties and Responsibilities**

1. To support the MIS Manager in the accurate processing of data, in compliance with the funding rules, including data validation reports such as the Provider Data Self-Assessment Toolkit (PDSAT), Funding Rules Monitoring (FRM) and other data exception reports.

2. To maintain an in-depth knowledge of all relevant funding rules, including 16 to 19 study programmes, ESFA Adult Education Budget, GLA (Greater London Authority, Advanced Learner Loans, and Higher Education and Individualised Learner Record (ILR) and audit requirements. To provide advice and guidance and to train stakeholders accordingly.

3. To support internal and external audit assignments, in order to provide assurance on controls and compliance within the college in line with funding bodies’ methodologies.

4. Support the College with its Internal/External Learner Number Audits, Subcontracting Audits and Financial Audits when required.

5. To undertake administrative duties relating to Additional Learning Support (ALS) to ensure compliance with the relevant funding rules.

6. Cross reference PLR from the Learner Records Service against Quals on Entry to support funding being generated.

7. To support the MIS department during student enrolment periods to resolve issues and provide advice and guidance where required.

8. To assist with the annual centralised archiving of student enrolment-related documentation

9. To regularly generate and process ILR data files, produce validation and exception reports, liaise with other colleagues as appropriate to ensure all errors are corrected, and submit timely, complete and accurate returns.

10. To prepare and submit other datasets and data returns as directed by the MIS Manager and in line with prescribed schedules and deadlines.

11. To regularly check, update and maintain learner data systems (such as ProAchieve and FIS) to ensure both front-end and reference data is kept current, complete, and accurate.

12. To be proactive and bring issues or ideas for improvement regarding data quality and compliance to the attention of the MIS Manager

13. To assist in the provision of training, documentation, and communication across the College as appropriate regarding data quality and Audit compliance issues.

14. To ensure learner data is stored, accessed, and processed in line with GDPR principles.

15. To work co-operatively with other MIS staff to ensure the overall objectives of the Department are met, including contributing to team initiatives and events.

16. Liaise on all MIS data, funding, and audit requirements.

17. Implement compliance checks to ensure compliance with funding requirements.

18. Comply with safeguarding procedures, including the promotion of the welfare of children and vulnerable adults, prevent and undertake training as required.

19. Comply with all relevant policies and procedures

20. Undertake regular training sessions and attend and participate in update meeting, including giving feedback to colleagues and manager.

21. Carry out the duties and responsibilities of the post in compliance with the college’s equal opportunities policy

22. Carry out any other reasonable duties and responsibilities within the overall function commensurate with the grading and level or responsibilities of the post.

The postholder is liable to undertake such other duties as may reasonably be required, commensurate with the grade, at the present place of work or at any other site on which the College may operate.
