Refuge Team Leader

**Refuge Team Leader**

**Hours**:35 per week

**Working Pattern**:Monday - Friday, with occasional evening and weekend work when required.

All staff must work flexibly on occasions to meet the needs of individuals being supported.

Successful applicant will be required to work some evenings and weekends.

**Compulsory participation in the 3rd Tier out of hours on-call rota.**

**Purpose of the post**:To provide assistance in the management and delivery of high quality, pro-active, responsive, specialist refuge support and services that enable people to feel safe and empowered.

**Responsibilities**
- As a senior member of the team, you will support the Exploitation Service Manager to plan, deliver and evaluate high quality, trauma informed, person led services within Newport.
- Lead the refuge team to enable those being supported by the refuge service to achieve meaningful and impactful outcomes, led by them.
- Carry a small caseload of clients within the refuge provision.
- Work collaboratively with Horizon Exploitation support services outreach Team Leader to ensure refuge, outreach and crisis referral paths are easily accessible, are clear and concise, and to continue to promote a whole team approach.
- Support those who are being exploited to have a voice and provide feedback within the organisation and the sector, including surveys, listening sessions and external opportunities.
- To oversee housekeeping, maximise refuge occupancy and facilitate room turnarounds in a timely manner.
- Attend Multi Agency Risk Assessment Conference (MARAC), core group and other similar meetings, ensuring completion of all tasks allocated to Cyfannol Women’s Aid (CWA)/ Horizon.
- Support the refuge team to when appropriate, signpost and support those being exploited to other services they wish to engage with for example drug and alcohol services, social services, police, health, sexual health, legal, DWP, housing, homelessness, recreational, educational, and cultural services, and CWA’s other internal services.
- Oversee and undertake risk assessment with/ on individuals, locations and activities and review accordingly.
- Oversee and develop support plans in line with the needs of those we support, and review accordingly.
- Oversee and assist with outcomes and gateway monitoring and reporting.
- To demonstrate and promote the organisation’s values, culture, and qualities.
- To foster a culture of continuous learning, improvement, and innovation that ensures our support and services are safe.
- Line management responsibilities including supervisions, 360’s, inductions for the refuge team (staff, volunteers, and students).
- Manage and oversee the rotas for refuge staff and make sure the refuges are adequately staffed at all times.
- To oversee operational Health & Safety requirements within refuge services
- Assist with routine audits including MODUS data base recording system and developing improvement plans where appropriate.
- Identify training needs following audits, supervisions, observations etc, and co-ordinate training for the team.
- Lead regular Refuge Team meetings and participate in Horizon full team meetings.
- Ensure accurate and timely records are maintained in relation to all aspects of the service, including inputting information into our Information Management System.
- Support the Exploitation Service Manager in compiling reports for Welsh Women’s Aid (WWA) Statistics, HSG and other relevant reports for projects, services, and funders.
- Being responsive to requests from other members of the charity for quantitative and qualitative data, including for example, the creation of case studies.

**General**
- To represent the organisation at external meetings, public events, conferences, and similar ensuring that the charities reputation is protected and enhanced.
- To actively work in partnership with other agencies and organisations to achieve better outcomes for women and children affected by VAWDASV,
- Participate in team meetings, supervision, and appropriate training.
- To always work within the charities policies and procedures.
- Any other reasonable duties as required.

**A current valid driving licence, access to a car and insurance covering business use is essential.**
