Our client, a City based Banking Group, wish to identify an individual to manage a small team that works as part of the Operations business - this team is responsible for all aspects of the control / oversight / operational risk control environment withinthe EMEA division through implementing new and reviewing existing control/oversight activities across all aspects of operations including treasury, loans, reconciliations, data, settlements etc.
Managing an established team, the person appointed will coordinate and resolve operational issues, whilst enhancing controls and efficiencies with key duties such as:
- Managing prescribed control activities, aiming to implement continuous improvements including Incident Reporting, Control Self-Assessment ("CSA"), Internal Inspection planning, execution, and reporting etc.
- To develop the operational risk elements of the enhanced Risk Management Framework.
- To prepare the necessary operational risk related material for a Risk Control Committee
- To supervise the day-to-day operations of the operational side of department including static data, reconciliations, standard settlement instructions, investigations etc.
Applicants for this pivotal function should offer substantial experience in an internal control environment (such as operational risk management, treasury risk, financial audit or SOX (financial reporting control)), a solid knowledge of banking treasury productsand operations (to include reconciliations, Back Office, database control and SWIFT) and the ability to manage and lead a team effectively.
