Baker/baker’s Assistant

Philp’s Bakery is a family run, small business in Hayle, making Cornish Pasties, savouries and cakes since 1958.

A position of Baker/Baker’s Assistant has become available at our Foundry Hill bakery in Hayle.

The role is predominantly all about producing Philp’s Bakery products such as bread rolls, saffron, tea treat, pizza, danish, cruffins etc.

The role will involve:
Assisting the bakers in the preparation and cooking of bread, cakes and other items.

Maintaining the premises of the baking area in a neat and hygienic manner.

Assisting the bakers in lifting heavy sacks of flour and other baking items.

Assisting the bakers in operating baking machineries.

Developing and create new delicious bakery products and any other reasonable duties to help with the smooth running of the business.

Applicant must be able to carry trays of products up and down stairs. Some products are hand moulded so this job is a physical job.

Full time, permanent position

Uniform and training provided

30 minute paid breaks

50% discount on Philp’s and some selected ICED on the Quay products.

Tuesday-Saturday shift pattern 4am - 11am
