More detail about the role Applications are invited for the post of Consultant Cellular Pathologist (2 WTEs) at Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust, based at North Devon District Hospital, Barnstaple. These posts offer an exciting opportunity to join a well-established, respected and successful team, with the posts created to both accommodate retirements and the increasing case numbers and complexity of cases seen in the department. You will be a generalist with subspecialty interests and we have opportunities in a range of subspecialty areas including but not limited to, urological pathology, breast pathology, head & neck and gastrointestinal pathology.
We have high performing UKAS accredited laboratories at both sites which are well staffed with an entertaining and motivated workforce. The aim of the department is to manage the workload effectively so that we report clinically urgent specimens in a timely way to meet the needs of the patient, but also to ensure our pathologists have a balanced workload.
