**Position: Credit Control Manager** **Location: Bradford**

**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Credit Control Leadership**: Manage and lead the credit control department, ensuring efficient and effective credit control operations that align with company policies and objectives.
- **Team Management**: Supervise and mentor a team of credit control professionals, providing guidance, training, and feedback to ensure the team's performance meets high standards.
- **Customer Relationship Management**: Develop and maintain strong relationships with key customers, managing credit limits, payment terms, and resolving credit-related queries in a timely and professional manner.
- **Risk Assessment**: Evaluate and assess the creditworthiness of potential and existing customers, making informed decisions regarding credit limits and terms while minimizing financial risks.
- **Debt Recovery**: Oversee the debt recovery process, implementing strategies to minimize overdue payments and reduce aged debt.
- **Reporting**: Prepare regular reports on credit control performance, aged debt analysis, and other relevant financial metrics to present to senior management.
- **Process Improvement**: Identify opportunities for process enhancements within the credit control department, driving continuous improvement initiatives to optimise efficiency and effectiveness.
- **Collaboration**: Collaborate with finance, sales, and customer service teams to streamline credit control processes and ensure a cohesive approach to customer interactions.
- **Compliance**: Ensure compliance with all relevant legal and regulatory requirements in credit control operations, promoting ethical and responsible practices.

**Qualifications and Requirements**:

- **Experience**: A minimum of 3 years of experience in credit control, including
- **Industry Knowledge**: A solid understanding of the foodservice or wholesale industry is advantageous.
- **Leadership Skills**: Proven ability to lead, mentor, and motivate a team, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- **Analytical Skills**: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to assess credit risks and make informed decisions.
- **Negotiation Skills**: Proficient in negotiating payment terms and resolving credit-related issues in a diplomatic and effective manner.
- **Attention to Detail**: A meticulous approach to maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records.
- **Software Proficiency**: Familiarity with credit management software and financial systems.
- **Education**: A relevant degree in finance, accounting, or a related field is preferred.
