**Job Purpose**

Supervise and run the maintenance department comprising of multi skilled engineers, welders and apprentices, implementing planned preventative maintenance programmes whilst ensuring safe and efficient plant maintenance.

**Main Responsibilities**
- Ensure that the policies and procedures of the company are upheld and enforced.
- Risk Assessments, method statements and rules for the safety of all should be maintained.
- Daily maintenance area checks are carried out and recorded for Health and safety including environmental compliance.
- The workshop and associated area is kept clean and tidy at all time with the help of the yard supervisor.
- Ensure individual machine records incorporating servicing, repairs and statutory inspections are kept up to date on Syrinx by the plant administrator.
- Ensure no parts, goods or services are purchased without an approved order number and authorisation. All signed delivery notes must be submitted to the accounts department
- Ensure there is a signed, documented, checking in and out procedure for all plant and equipment in in place, to record defects, fuel levels, leaks etc
- Any defects including fuel shortage that are chargeable to the customer are notified to the customer as soon as the plant has been returned to the yard.
- All defects are reported and repaired through the company reporting process.
- Control of all fitters and subcontractors with regard to cost and hours work.
- Assigning tasks as required while monitoring the quality and performance of their work throughout the day.
- Fitters daily job sheets are filled out daily and submitted to the office
- Regular reviews are carried out on the performance of each individual, identifying any training requirements or performance shortfalls
- Develop and maintain healthy relationships with customers.

**Key Attributes, Skills & Qualifications**
- 5 year’s plus experience in a construction plant maintenance role
- Experience with, excavators, dozers, ADT, Trucks, wheeled shovels, crushers, etc of all sizes and a variety of manufacturers
- Attention to detail with good people management skills
- Organised and methodical, knowledge of Health and safety, IOSH qualification desirable
- Ideally with some supervisory experience

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: From £17.00 per hour
