Octavius Infrastructure Limited is a leading civil engineering and construction company in the UK with a proven track record of delivering safe, sustainable, and efficient transport solutions across the UK. We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated Buyer to join our team based in Binley or Reigate.

This a key role within the central Procurement and Supply Chain Management team to provide dedicated strategic procurement and buying services across our projects within the Rail and Highway sectors. Your primary objective will be to drive commercial efficiencies through the robust negotiation of prices, quality, service levels and to enhance safe and sustainable outcomes and opportunities.

**Responsibilities**:
You will be responsible for running requests for quotations, tender assessments, and making recommendations on potential suppliers. You'll work closely with the project teams to purchase materials and services and meet projects' operational needs within price, quality, and continuity of supply requirements. Additionally, you will establish performance led, long term relationships with suppliers and ensure they are set up correctly in accordance with contract terms, purchasing processes, and Octavius' systems to ensure smooth ordering and visibility of costs.

**Requirements**:

- Track record of implementing and delivering material procurement strategies
- Evidence of improving supply chain engagement, development, and key performance
- Experience in a buyer role in civil engineering or construction is an advantage
- Strong negotiation and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to multitask
- Commercially minded and a good understanding of purchasing processes and contract management
