The Role
- Working in collaboration with the internal and external stakeholders to procure the best pricing and effective delivery of stock, consumables and other products as required (using a JIT approach)
- Attend regular project-focused meetings to gain knowledge and understand project planning, to facilitate timely and cost-effective procurement to ensure fulfilment per plan scheduling.
- Place purchase orders for proprietary components to Include composite components and in line with the requirements generated by our MRP system and electronic purchase requisitions generated by authorised supervisors/finance.
- Assist in outsourcing of Manufactured components if/when our in house facility cannot meet the demand or specification.
- Assist in the expediting of purchase orders to ensure suppliers are delivering to agreed dates & in line with our build programmes.
- Suggest and create a Tiered Suppliers Database, ensuring that we maintain close relationships with our Tier 1 and Tier 2 Suppliers. Continually monitor suppliers to ensure cost, quality, and delivery adherence.
- Capability to read and interpret Technical Drawings and follow up queries through to resolution.
- Continuously provide updates and Procurement support to Colleagues, Department Managers, and other Internal stakeholders. This will include - but not limited to changes in delivery dates, product pricing and other prevalent information.
- To play an active role in achieving departmental objectives such as cost reduction targets year on year, supplier reduction and improved stock levels.
- Any other reasonable duties which may be required by management from time to time
- Compliance with all departmental H&S requirements
- Compliance, where appropriate with management, & environmental, systems, such as ISO 9001 & ISO 14001
- Must be computer literate.
- Knowledge of Access Supply Chain (Not essential)
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Outlook, Word, Excel etc
- Understanding of Purchasing MRP systems, Stores environments & related processes.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent team player and able to multi-task.
- Positive with a flexible can-do attitude.
- Proven experience within a Technical Buyers role is essential.

Salary - competitive dependant on skills and experience

Leave entitlement - 25 days per year plus statutory holidays (compulsory shutdown of three days at Christmas).

Working hours - 08:30 17:00, Monday to Friday.
