**Opportunities at Female Only IRC**

We're looking for people to create a brand new team based at our new Immigration Removal Centre (IRC), as part of our newly acquired contract. Individuals will have experience in relating to people that may be agitated or confused by their circumstances and are able to interact and assist potentially vulnerable individuals whilst in our care. Empathy and resilience are key attributes for this role.

You will be passionate about delivering a great service in a sensitive manner, along with good communication skills and a team player. The ability to remain calm under pressure and experience in problem solving would also be advantageous to developing your career within Care and Custody.

**Main Duties**
- To provide a hair-cutting and nail care & beauty service to residents which reflects the cultural needs of the population and is in accordance with contractual, safety and security standards.
- Provide hair-cutting, and nail care & beauty services ensuring that skills are current and updated in line with industry standards, advances and trends.
- Promote the services offered and manage a booking system for all residents to enable fair access to the services.
- Manage the environment ensuring maintenance and security of tools and equipment at all times to relevant standards.
- Maintain the workspace ensuring it is clean and tidy at all times.
- Create and maintain a safe, secure, positive and friendly environment where residents feel welcomed and respected.
- Ensure the completion of all documentation and administration in line with company policies and any external agency requirements so that accurate, compliant data is maintained and provided.
- Use all resources effectively to ensure quality of service and value for money.
- Advise on equipment and purchases necessary to meet contractual requirements.
- Supervise and coach resident barbers to help develop their skills and ensure safety and security.

**What we are looking for**

Essential
- This is a multi-skilled role with the individual requiring, and willingness to learn further: hairdressing, barbering (including afro hair braiding), beauty, spa and nail treatments, in order to deliver a range of hairdressing styles and beauty treatments to women of all ages and ethnicities.
- NVQ Level 2 in Hairdressing providers the basic and essential skills to practise as a hairdresser. It's generally considered the minimum qualification for a salon role. E.g. City & Guilds, Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Hairdressing and Barbering.
- Any employee only qualified to NVQ Level 2 will need to commit to the completion of further training to at least one NVQ Level 3 qualification in Hairdressing, beauty therapy or nail technology as a requirement of the role.

Desirable:

- City & Guilds Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Hairdressing and Barbering
- City & Guilds Level 2 Technical certificate in Beauty Therapy, Nail Treatments
- City & Guilds Level 3 Advanced Technical Diploma in Beauty and Spa therapy or Nail Technology
