The role of Assistant Gardener represents an opportunity to work in the stunning surroundings of a 9-acre garden, 3 miles outside Taunton. The gardens are varied and include flower beds, a vegetable garden, vineyard, orchard, meadows, ponds and an ornamental woodland walk.

**Job title**: Assistant Gardener

The working day includes a half-hour lunch break

**Salary**: £10.50 per hour

**Reports to**:The Head Gardener

**Job purpose**: Caring for 9 acres of grounds and gardens, assisting the
Head Gardener and other team members in maintaining high stands of presentation across the estate.

The Assistant Gardener will:
1. Ensure the gardens and grounds are kept tidy and well-presented.

2. Carry out regular maintenance of the lawns, including mowing with hand-propelled and ride-on mowers and the use of strimmers.

3. Assist the Head Gardener with the planting, pruning and weeding of the flower beds and borders.

4. Assist with regular watering of the gardens.

5. Take all reasonable care for your own health, safety and welfare, along with that of all other people on site, in accordance with the safe working procedures set out by the Head Gardener.

**Job Types**: Part-time, Temporary contract, Freelance
Contract length: 1 month
Part-time hours: 24 per week

**Salary**: £10.50 per hour
