Financial Reporting Assistant

We’re searching for a **Financial Reporting Assistant** to join our team of free thinkers and collaborators on a **temporary (14 month) basis**.
In this role, you'll contribute to the accurate and timely delivery of financial reporting requirements for the edyn Group, whilst striving for continuous improvement in processes and supporting change initiatives. Sitting within Financial Reporting, with the wider Reporting & Control team, the Financial Reporting Assistant role is varied with exposure to a number of different areas of finance and the group. Working closely with the Financial Manager and Financial Reporting UK team, the role will support with the delivery of specific areas of UK finance, as well as assisting the wider group.
**A role less ordinary.**
- For the UK operational entities, supporting certain month end activities including but not limited to: balance sheet reconciliations, tax reporting, intercompany recharging, IFRS 16 accounting, payroll accounting and management fee calculations.
- Ownership of monthly UK balance sheet reconciliations.
- Supporting the UK audit process, providing requested information in a timely manner and supporting with the preparation of UK entity statutory accounts. Ad Hoc support for Group wide audit process as required.
- Preparation of VAT returns and supporting with the Corporate Tax return process.
- Supporting the Financial Reporting team with cash management and cash forecasting, particularly in relation to the preparation of funding proposals and clearance of intercompany balances.
- Supporting the financial accountant on monthly and quarterly debt reporting requirements.
- Supporting with the preparation of required statutory filings in relation to entity capital changes and structure changes.
- Assisting with the preparation of quarterly technical accounting reporting to external stakeholders.
- Supporting change programmes, efficiency and process improvement initiatives; create efficiencies through continuous improvement of processes and use of systems.
- Working closely with the Finance Manager, you will be required to support business critical ad hoc projects as the group continues to grow.
**Who you are.**
- Previous experience using ERP Systems such as SAGE, Oracle, SAP, Netsuite.
- Relevant industry knowledge or experience within the hospitality industry is desirable.
- Demonstratable previous experience within a financial reporting role or similar
- An awareness of statutory reporting requirements, in particular IFRS.
- Willing to study towards an accounting qualification (AAT, ACCA, ACA, or CIMA) but not essential
- Strong system and modelling skills (particularly excel).
- Dynamic and able to rise to new challenges as they emerge.
- Strong interpersonal skills with ability to build effective working relationships and influence change.
