To take part in meeting the needs of patients under the supervision of a
qualified nurse working within the policies and procedures of the Trust.
To be an effective member of a multi-disciplinary team under the direction and supervision of a qualified nurse.
To be responsible for contributing to the smooth and efficient running of the department.
To assist and support qualified practitioners and patients during clinical
treatments and investigative procedures.
To take and record observations of temperature, pulse, blood pressure ,
respiration and urine analysis as delegated by a qualified nurse. To be
responsible for recording appropriately and reporting findings to that nurse.
Dermatology has a fixed term vacancy within its friendly team for a Health Care Assistant. If you are looking for a new role with the added bonus of no weekends or night duties this could be the role for you.We will provide a supportive environment for you to gain experience and skills within dermatology and skin cancer surgery.
The Brighton General building is run by Sussex Community Trust - it is essential that the post holder maintains good working relationships with the Trusts that work within the building as well as the UHSussex departments that also run within the building.

To act in such a way as to promote the safety and wellbeing of patients and
staff by being aware of the environmental elements of care and by complying with Trust policies in relation to Health and Safety; for eg. manual handling, fire precautions, food handling, the management of untoward incidents.
To have a full understanding of the patient’s optimum level of mobility and to assist with the movement of patient’s through different care settings within the hospital.
To assist patients, where necessary by the use of the appropriate
aid/appliance, to achieve physical comfort whilst observing the need to
minimise the adverse effects of pressure.
To aid patients during their time in outpatients, demonstrating an awareness of each individual’s right to privacy, dignity and personal preference.
To assist patients to maintain their elimination needs.
