**The Opportunity**

This is an opportunity to lead Belfast’s contribution to the Arup North Transport Planning team which includes working closely with around 30 colleagues in Glasgow, Edinburgh and Newcastle. The team provides a range of Transport Planning services to both public and private clients. We work alongside other Arup teams focusing on the transport planning and engineering aspects of urban transportation, highways, rail, as well as part of Arup-wide multi-disciplinary teams in the UK, Ireland and across the world.

Our Transport Planning services include mobility strategies for cities, towns, new infrastructure, and developments. We also work on Transport Assessments, which often requires traffic and transport modelling, as well as mobility management planning. We have increasing capability in transport analytics, using digital tools and innovative data analysis techniques to support projects.

The team's vision is to enhance our urban areas in co-operation with our client partners to provide for the sustainable growth in transport.

**Is this role right for you?**

You will lead the Transport Planning team in our Belfast office, working closely with the North Transport Planning discipline leader and within the overall leadership structure, working with our core clients within local authorities including Belfast City Council, Translink and the Department for Infrastructure and numerous other institutions and private clients.

We are seeking experience within the UK planning system, working with commercial property developers/institutions and Local Authorities and Transport service providers. You will act as Project Manager including liaising with clients and other design teams along with managing sub-consultants and other in-house Arup discipline teams.

As team lead, you will support team members with the delivery of design drawings, supporting transportation analysis, as well as the preparation and review of reports and you may also be involved in recruitment, training and team development discussions.

Ideally you will possess or be working towards relevant professional qualification/Chartership

Essential criteria
- Demonstrated experience within Transport strategies and masterplan studies
- Transport Assessment experience
- Development planning skills
- Application of traffic modelling software
- Experience of integrating active travel and new mobility provisions
- Preparation fee proposals and manage budgets for individual projects.
