SEN 1 to 1 Breakfast and After School Club Practitioner

Shenfield Day Nursery has many years experience operating a B&ASC at St. Mary’s C of E Primary School, and this service has been extended to the school families at Mountnessing C of E Primary School.

Our club makes full use of the fantastic school facilities including playing field, woodland areas, playground equipment and garden gazebo. Children are inspired to get involved with nature projects as well as indoor games and fun, alongside quiet time to unwind and support is also given with homework where required.

We are looking for a staff member who is experienced in working with children with special educational needs and ideally with a Level 2 or higher qualification in childcare or a Playworker qualification. However, a qualification is not necessarily essential if extensive experience can be demonstrated as training will be given.

All staff have regular development supervisions and yearly appraisals, where training needs are identified. Staff also receive ‘core training’ every three years including Safeguarding children, Paediatric First Aid, Food Hygiene and Equal Opportunities. Staff at the Club are supported and overseen by the Management Team at Shenfield Day Nursery.

We firmly believe that our B&ASC’s should complement the school day and not replicate it. Most of all, our aim is to provide a high quality service and be a safe, fun space for children to continue building their social skills, interact with one another and use their own imagination. Staff members are entitled to a free place for their child at our clubs.
