A unique opportunity for experienced Resettlement Support Workers to join our Clink Kitchens project

We are currently recruiting to cover the Liverpool and Merseyside area.
- Experience and skills in working with offenders and/or vulnerable people within a prison environment
- Experience and skills working with disadvantaged and excluded individuals, and managing issues around mental health, drug & alcohol use and offending behavior.
- A clean driving license is essential and the ability drive/travel between multiple prison sites.

The Clink Charity works in partnership with Her Majesty’s Prison Service and has developed an engaging and integrated training program which gives prisoners a chance to gain professional qualifications whilst in prison and supports them on their release in finding employment. Prisoners have the chance to gain City & Guilds NVQ qualifications in different areas from food preparation and food safety to horticulture. Our success has led to our latest concept - The Clink Kitchens, where we train and assess within prison kitchens across the country. This is a fantastic opportunity to join our latest venture which is expanding country wide.

The role of a Clink Kitchens Resettlement Support Worker is crucial in supporting our clients in reducing reoffending rates. As part of our close-knit team, you will be providing a high quality and responsive support service which creatively addresses the needs and risks of our clients to enable them to avoid further offending behaviour and maintain employment. Clients will come from a multitude of prison sites across the region, therefore careful diary management, planning and travel between multiple prison locations will be key in managing your community caseload.

To be successful in the role, you will have the following skills, knowledge and experience:

- Custodial experience is preferred as this role will be working with clients across multiple prisons and an understanding of offending behavior is necessary.
- Experience in working with individuals who have experienced mental health issues and drug & alcohol abuse, disadvantaged & excluded individuals, including those who present a risk of harm is required to make appropriate referrals.
- A good understanding of safeguarding issues and the ability to assess risk in consultation with your team.
- Previous experience working in partnership with employers, drug & alcohol services, benefits agencies, probation services and other external stakeholders.
- An understanding of the methods and approaches that could be used to prepare clients to live and work independently.
- Excellent English Language communication skills, and administration skills to be able to produce high quality meeting minutes, client notes and letters.
- Knowledge of the benefits system and ability to deal with housing agencies and landlords
- Some knowledge of the hospitality industry is of benefit, or an interest or willingness to learn.
- The ability to work under pressure and manage your time effectively, prioritizing need accordingly.
- A supportive and motivating approach to your client group, with a genuine desire to help clients turn their lives around.
