**Job Title**:Company Therapist

**Salary**:£40,000 - £50,000**

**Hours**:37.5 hours per week
- **Total add on's to salary (bonuses)**:

- Refer a friend scheme: Earn up to **£400** **£100 **when they start with us, **£100** when they stay with us for 3 months and **£200** when the friend passes their probation period.
- **20 days annual leave + 8 days public holidays** (this will increase after 3 & 5 years completed employment with Northridge Care group).

**Northridge Care Group **_is a private organisation that offers high quality residential care for children and young people with complex needs associated with challenging behaviour. _

**Location**: You will be required to work across our children's homes in South Ribble, however, one day a week can be set aside for working at our Head Office to write up records if needed.

**Job Overview**:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Therapist to join our team. As a Therapist, you will work with young people to provide counseling and therapy services. Your role will be to help our young people navigate through their emotional and mental health challenges and develop coping strategies for a healthier and more fulfilling life.

**Qualifications**:

- Educated to GCSE standard or equivalent.
- Relevant Diploma in Psychology
- Further Diploma/Degree/masters in specific field (Psychology, education, social work, behaviour sciences, human development or related fields)
- Licensed Therapist

**Skills& Experience**:

- At least two years’ experience working within a therapeutic role.
- Considerable evidence of working with young people in a residential setting.
- Must have sufficient language skills and ability to communicate both verbally and in writing, to implement and document the services provided to young people and for the company accurately and professionally.
- Ability to visually observe young people’s needs.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Good written & oral communication.
- Outgoing, positive, and fun team spirited individual.

**Main Responsibilities**:
1. Personnel accountability and responsibility - be able to create own schedule, be independent with the ability to cultivate the role to meet the needs of all children and young people in our care.

2. Ability to be flexible and potentially work some weekends, bank holidays and flexible hours to meet the needs of the young people.

3. Ensure adherence of policies, both in the home, the organisation and those set out in Children's Legislation and Regulations.

4. Offer children and young people 1:1 support around emotional health and wellbeing, where needed.

5. Keep clear and thorough records of any 1:1 work completed with children and young people and ensure this information is provided in update form to relevant professionals when requested and as part of their ongoing care plan.

6. Develop and support staff to build skills around a variety of intervention strategies regarding behaviour management, in order that children can develop coping mechanisms and changes in patterns of behaviour.

7. Offer sound advice and guidance to staff teams and management in response to changes in children’s behaviours, meeting the needs and promoting development.

8. Attend meetings and reviews of children within required time scales, ensuring that relevant reports and updates are provided with clear targets for support and achievement with children and young people.

9. Plan, develop and monitor the impact of reflective practice within the homes to ensure that staff and managers are understand and deliver a high standard of therapeutic care to children and young people.

10. Ensure effective delivery of individual care planning requirements for children in relation to their emotional wellbeing and development.

11. Ensure the home has sufficient and varied information which is accessible to all regarding access to support agencies that will promote the health and well-being of children in placement.

12. Take the lead in ensuring a therapeutic culture is created, one in which children feel that they can cared for and that they are listened to.

13. Ensure that each home functions in such a manner that managers and staff, understand, recognise and act on concerns for children’s emotional health and wellbeing and provide support, including referral to external agencies, in a timely manner that ensures their needs are met.

14. Work within the code of confidentiality and ensure that records are stored and held in a manner which is compliant with regulations.

15. Provide staff with sufficient information that ensures they understand the role of a therapeutic support worker and devise monitoring systems, which will ensure this support is delivered to a high standard.

16. Provide relevant training for staff to ensure they understand and implement a therapeutic model of working with children and young people.
