Retail & Hospitality is a specialist division within LRQA, working towards legal food safety standards for clients. Specifically for this role, this is to support our major clients in ensuring that the supplier they use, meet the clients high safety standards needed to supply them. This is not Certification work, it is 2nd Party Supply Audit work, but still need a high skill level in food safety.

**The work is available in UK, Ireland and Europe and is offered on a Self Employed Contractor basis.**

**Role purpose**:

- Accountable for ensuring the delivery of audits allocated within the agreed timescales and KPIs
- Liaise and communicate with the LRQA contact to deliver the planned audits, sending in reports and corrective actions within the timescales for Client requirements as per scheme KPIs
- Work with Business Support Specialists to agree allocations of audits.
- Ensure effective communication with the Supplier, LRQA and yourself to review, maintain and communicate updates where required to plan all work in the set ranges.
- Accountable for arranging audit dates with the supplying site and ensuring that you put any agreed dates onto the LRQA portal.
- Attend and participate in Calibration Meetings
- Ability to stay up to date with knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations and best practice
- Ability to interpret & understand the client requirements
- Adaptable and well organised with a practical minded approach and the ability to deliver despite the pressures of working to tight deadlines
- Deliver all parts of the audit process on time, including submitting reports on time, signing off Corrective Action on time and submitting all documentation to LRQA as agreed in the audit process
- Read, review, participate and communicate with LRQA that you have read and understood all Clients updates and any changes to Scheme standards as communicated by LRQA
- Confident, firm and fair but not confrontational as the 2nd party supply are also support and coaching.

**Technical/Professional Qualifications and Role requirement**
- Food Science Degree or Equivalent degree
- HACCP Qualification - Successful completion of intermediate accredited training in HACCP based on Codex Alimentarius (of at least 2 days’ duration)
- Auditor experience
- Food Manufacturing Experience - A minimum of 2 years’ experience if appropriately academically qualified or minimum 5 years’ experience related to the food industry experience
- Food Industry Knowledge and knowledge in category
- Auditor Qualification Applicable to the client requirement (for example, Internal auditing/Lead Assessor ISO22K)
- Excellent Communication and Organisational Skills
- Excellent and concise report writing, be able to report concise and clearly
- Knowledge of industry Food Legislation
- Ability to work independently and maintain accurate records, excellent attention to detail
- IT and MS Literate
- Knowledge of Excel
- Fluent in local language and English
