We are seeking a self-motivated, dynamic and forward-thinking, person who would ideally be a qualified professional, to join our Clinical Governance Team.
The post holder will work in conjunction with the Associate Director of Nursing and other key stakeholders in championing the reducing restrictive interventions agenda supporting the provision of safe, compassionate and high quality care, which places the patient at the heart of everything that we do.
Covid-19 full vaccination is a condition of employment for this role, unless an exemption applies. The successful applicant may have contact with vulnerable service users and we will therefore seek proof of being fully vaccinated during the recruitment process.
The post holder will ideally be an experienced professional and will have oversight of the PMVA team.
They will be responsible for the planning, delivery and monitoring of innovative, contemporary evidence based training and education programmes aimed at reducing incidents of violence and aggression and the use of physical interventions. These will be in keeping with ‘least restrictive” principles whilst maintaining the safety of both staff and patients.
The post will also encompass the provision of expert clinical advice and support; input into risk management strategies; policy development; analysing and reporting on issues that relate to the prevention and management of violence and aggression; leading on the development and attainment of self-governing status for PMVA practice within the Trust; developing income generating opportunities and a commitment to continual improvement of the service.
The role will be a key member of the Reducing Restrictive Interventions Governance Group to develop and maintain the governance infrastructure surrounding PMVA and reduction in the use of physical interventions.
The role will monitor and follow up all incidents in relation to violence and aggression, use of restrictive practices, and any contraband reported on the Trusts electronic reporting systems.
The role will attend any relevant Trust committees and working groups
The role will provide regular reports to the Governance Team on compliance within scope of practice
