Position: Group Financial Planning Analyst
Location: Hybrid (base location Liverpool)
Hours: Permanent Full time 35 hours a week Monday - Friday
**Salary**: £33,633 p/a
You'll report to the Group Financial Planning Manager and support the team to ensure all reporting processes are followed, whilst supporting the financial planning cycle across the Group, including the Budget, quarterly forecasts and the annual 30-year BusinessPlan.
You will challenge and support business areas to help deliver growth initiatives, process improvement, margin enhancement and commercial opportunities. You will also produce the appropriate reports to monitor financial performance against the Group Boardset Golden Rules, covenants, and other key metrics agreed by the business.
Role Profile:
- Ensure accurate and timely delivery of the Budget, Quarterly Forecasts and other supporting financial analysis
- Assist the Group Financial Planning Manager to deliver a smooth and robust month end including the management accounts and financial performance reporting, together with risks and opportunities, for senior stakeholders, including Executive Directors andGroup Board
- Work with other key stakeholders across Group Finance and Group Treasury in the preparation, validation and submission of Regulatory Returns to ensure accurate and timely compliance.
- Play a key role in ensuring the timely preparation and consolidation of Budgets and Quarterly Forecasts for the Group and its subsidiaries
- Ensure financial control and data integrity of all financial models used for reporting and planning.
- Provide support as and when required in the year end and audit preparation or other regulatory reporting, including requests from external auditors
- Support with Finance Systems administration responsibilities and ensure any recommendations made by Financial Controls Manager are implemented to ensure appropriate financial controls are applied to all key systems, processes and ways of working
- Work with the Group Financial Planning Manager and other key stakeholders to develop and continually improve budgeting, financial projections, operating forecast and other ad-hoc analysis to drive financial performance
Business Plan
- Have an awareness of both internal and external factors and challenges and how they may impact the company's financial position
- Support with the development of financial models and analyse them to support strategic initiatives
- Play a key role in ensuring the timely preparation and consolidation of the 30 year Business Plan for the Group, and relevant business plans for subsidiaries
- Provide robust financial support to promote efficiency and to generally manage and improve financial reporting across the Group
- To proactively identify, initiate and deliver on system and process improvements and opportunities to add value to the business and work to implement change as necessary
Skills and Expereiance
- Partly or fully CCAB/CIMA/ACCA qualified or equivalent
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to work flexibly to meet business requirements
- Ability to carry out financial planning, analysis and reporting
- Comfortable with working in a matrix environment with a range of stakeholders
- Interest in (or currently) studying towards a financial qualification (CIMA/CCAB).
