As a Buyer, you will play a vital role in ensuring the timely and cost-effective procurement of materials for our projects. You will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing materials from suppliers while maintaining strong relationships and achieving the best value for the company. Your attention to detail, market knowledge, and strong communication skills will contribute to the smooth operation of our projects.

Key Responsibilities:

- Source and identify reliable suppliers of construction materials, equipment, and services.
- Conduct market research and analysis to stay up-to-date with industry trends, prices, and availability of materials.
- Evaluate supplier quotations, negotiate pricing, terms, and conditions to secure competitive pricing and favourable agreements.
- Prepare and issue purchase orders based on project requirements and budgetary constraints.
- Coordinate with project managers and site teams to ensure timely delivery of materials to construction sites.
- Resolve any supply chain issues, such as delays, quality concerns, or discrepancies in orders.
- Monitor supplier performance, maintaining a database of supplier information, and recommending changes if necessary.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, negotiating favourable contracts and terms for long-term partnerships.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including project managers, workshop manager, and finance, to optimize procurement processes and ensure alignment with project goals.
- Stay informed about industry regulations, certifications, and standards related to construction materials and sustainability.

Qualifications and Skills:

- Previous experience as a Materials Buyer or in a similar procurement role within the construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of construction materials, equipment, and their specifications.
- Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with suppliers.
- Solid understanding of procurement processes, including sourcing, evaluation, and contract management.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.

**Salary**: £25,000.00-£30,000.00 per year

- Monday to Friday

- Newtownabbey, BT36 4LA: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)
