Garner Aluminium Extrusions, a growing company privately owned by a local entrepreneur, is based in Nether Heage. We have designed and developed our own range of aluminium windows and doors, which we extrude, paint, and assemble on-site. Additionally, we supply trade extrusions for the plastic and aluminium building product sectors.
We are seeking a proactive **Trainee Payroll & Accounts Assistant** to join our dynamic accounts team. This role is ideal for someone enthusiastic about contributing to our high standards and ensuring we deliver top-quality products to our customers.
**Key Responsibilities and Duties**:
- Managing payroll duties for over 100 weekly paid employees (full training provided)
- HR administration, including setting up new starters, organizing personnel files, and performing regular checks
- Liaising with non-finance staff and production management regarding payroll queries
- Note-taking during employee meetings
- Providing general administrative support as needed
- Undertaking other ad-hoc duties as required
**Qualifications/Experience/Knowledge and Skills**:
- **Attention to Detail**: Essential for ensuring accuracy in payroll and administrative tasks
- **Numerate and Methodical**: Ability to handle numbers and follow systematic processes
- **Proactive All-Rounder**: Ready to take initiative and assist in various tasks
- **Communication Skills**: Excellent verbal and written skills
- **IT Skills**: Proficiency in MS Office
- **Willingness to Learn**: Open to gaining new skills and knowledge
- **Flexibility**: Adaptable within the role to meet the company’s needs
**Job Type**: Permanent
Pay: £17,000.00-£25,000.00 per year
