Assistant Finance Manager

**Summary
**Venture Recruitment Partners are working with a well-established business in Andover.The client is looking to recruit an Assistant Finance Manager on a permanent basis.You will be part of a friendly team and work closely with the Finance Manager.Your role will require you to be responsible for the management of Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable teams.Your day to day will involve you being responsible for accurate and timely VAT records, managing balance sheet accounts and month end relatedtasks.
**The Role**
- Oversee purchase ledger and accounts receivable
- Assist in the timely and accurate month end close within agreed deadlines
- Responsible for the submission of VAT, EC Sales & Intrastat
- Ensure record keeping & reporting rules are adhered to
- Ensure complete, accurate and timely processing of all transactions
- Assist in the preparation of year-end financial statements
- Assist with developing, operating and maintaining an effective system of internal controls to ensure a clean general ledger
- Ensure efficient processes within the financial function and within cross functional processes involving finance
- Maintain daily cashflow reporting to ensure supplier payments are made in line with agreed terms
- Proactively identify and implement cost saving measures
- Support Finance Manager in any other business improvement/analysis projects
**Skills, knowledge and Experience
**It would be useful if you have the below:
- Strong PC skills/knowledge of MS Office packages & accounting Systems knowledge
- Strong attention to detail
- Good VAT and intrastate
- Able to prioritize and work independently with limited supervision
- Excellent communication skills
- AAT / part qualified / CIMA/ACCA
