This is a great opportunity to join an established Education Centre set up 10 years ago to help reduce permanent exclusions for primary aged children. As an Learning Support Assistant, you will already be experienced in supporting children’s learning from within either a school, sport coaching or other community support environment.

Our client’s coaching team help and support vulnerable children with behavioural and emotional issues, equipping them with the life skills needed to transition back into mainstream education.

**What we need from you as a Learning Support Assistant**:

- **Experience of supporting children to re-engage in learning**:

- **The relevant qualifications**:

- Understand principles of child development and learning processes and, barriers to learning
- Understand Safeguarding
- Effective use of ICT to support learning
- Excellent interpersonal skills to be able to relate well to a wide range of people

**Responsibilities and Tasks**:
This role will involve working as part of the Coaching Team, to provide support in addressing the needs of pupils who need help to overcome barriers to learning. You will be working in a classroom-based environment providing:

- Pastoral support to pupils
- Developing individual’s self-esteem, confidence and resilience as well as basic literacy and numeracy skills
- Delivering lessons in line with agreed lesson plans
- Encouraging pupils to interact with staff, each other, and develop positive relationships
- Providing and preparing regular reports, giving feedback on pupil’s achievements, progress or problems.

**Salary/Package**:£18,000 - £21,000 per annum (depending on experience). **Hours of work**: Monday to Friday 8.30am - 3pm - some flexibility may be needed at times to support pupils and meet deadlines - working 38 weeks (term time only).
