Technique Recruitment Solutions Ltd are a specialist Engineering & manufacturing Recruitment company based in Norwich. Our client have a permanent position for a Test Technician to join their team
**The Role
**To be involved with the product life cycle of electronic products produced within the company; from the initial stage of understanding the design requirements, testing and validating the product design, through to production and assisting with thetesting and analysis of returned parts.
**MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES**
Support the engineering team with product DV (Design Validation) testing.
Evaluate test requirements, based on specifications, standard procedures, and internal/external requirements.
Develop test plans and procedures
Manage prototype and pre-production manufacture of samples to be used in the DV test plans
Identify and manage test providers aligned to DV test plan, liaise with test provider to ensure tests completed aligned to timing plans.
Prepare test reports of DV testing, provide analyse and produce the relevant design documentation to include reports containing graphs and charts to interpret and clearly demonstrate results with recommendations for improvement.
Assist with the analysis and investigation of any product failures and provide input to the 8D process, either customer returned parts or failures identified in the engineering product development process or within manufacturing operations.
Provide electrical/electronic technical assistance to the Engineering department and other areas of the business where appropriate.
To work in a cost effective and quality conscious manner to maximise productivity.
To work the necessary hours to achieve deadlines in conjunction with the working time regulation.
To carry out any duties as required by the company to ensure a quality product and service is delivered to customers on time.
**Desirable Skills**
The ability to read and understand electronics schematics.
Fault diagnosis to component level on electronic assemblies.
Soldering skills for both through hole and surface mount components.
A basic understanding of microcontroller systems and peripherals.
A basic understanding of RF systems is desirable.
Experience with electronics test equipment such as DVM, Oscilloscopes, Spectrum Analysers is desirable.
