The relief security officer will be responsible for maintaining and delivering a first-class service, to our client base in and around Scunthorpe, whilst ensuring the health, safety and security of the building and supporting members of the public, contractors, and on-site staff.

**Shift Structure**:_Varies depending on the assignment. _

**Salary**: Minimum £11.50 per hour (however you will be paid the "assignment rate")

**Reporting to**: Operations Manager and Operations Support Supervisor

**Roles and Responsibilities**:
The main duties of a relief security officer is to support the operations teams in maintaining service levels through covering emergencies, overtime and absences such as sickness, holidays etc.
- Maintain a safe, secure and pleasant environment to our clients' buildings and assets by providing a professional and visible security presence.
- Work in accordance with the assignment instructions, procedures and any temporary instructions.
- Conducting internal and external patrols of the building, including monitoring of CCTV (if required).
- Assisting and directing clients staff and members of the public.
- Recording and maintaining factual and accurate information in the daily log book and within other on-site documentation.
- Conducting handover procedures at the start and end of each shift to ensure all occurrences and incidents are communicated.
- Reporting any security events and dealing with emergency situations, including initial alerts and evacuations, in accordance with site procedures and escalating to the relevant teams.

**Applicants must have / be**:

- Flexible and reliable with an excellent attendance and punctuality record.

- Excellent customer service and communication skills, verbal, written and listening.
- A team player with a positive, solution focused approach.
- Enthusiastic and must enjoy working with people.
- Able to communicate at all levels and with people whose first language is not English.
- Be able to maintain professionalism (professional boundaries) when dealing with situations which may be stressful, demanding, and challenging.
- Must be able to communicate clearly, sometimes over sensitive and / or complex issues in a non-judgmental way.
- A valid SIA (Door Supervision or Security) licence is essential.
- A valid First Aid certificate, with a minimum of 12 months before expiration.
- A valid driving licence with access to a vehicle.

**Pre-Employment Screening & Vetting**:
Start - following satisfactory interview, background checks and DBS.

Applicants must be able to provide a minimum of 5 years checkable employment / unemployment / educational history, with **no **gaps greater than 30 days.

This is required for Screening and Vetting as per the current BS 7858.
