Experienced Groundworker

Job Title: Groundworker

**Responsibilities**:

- Perform various manual labor tasks to assist with construction and maintenance projects
- Dig trenches, holes, and ditches using hand tools and power equipment
- Assist with the installation and repair of underground utilities such as water lines, sewer lines, and electrical cables
- Operate machinery such as backhoes, excavators, and compactors under the supervision of a qualified operator
- Assist with the pouring and finishing of concrete for sidewalks, curbs, and other structures
- Clean and prepare construction sites by removing debris and hazardous materials
- Follow all safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient completion of projects

**Experience**:

- Previous experience in construction or a related field is preferred but not required
- Ability to operate basic hand tools such as shovels, rakes, and hammers
- Familiarity with power tools and heavy machinery is a plus
- Physical stamina and the ability to perform strenuous tasks in various weather conditions
- Strong work ethic and willingness to learn new skills on the job

**Salary**: £16.00-£18.00 per hour

- Peebles: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

Licence/Certification:

- CSCS (preferred)
- Driving Licence (required)
