Job Title: Counsellor / Bibliotherapist, part time 21 hours per week
Annual salary £26,500 FTE actual £15,900
Overview:
We are looking for qualified Counsellors who are interested in delivery of Bibliotherapy and Creative Writing as part of their therapeutic approach.
**Responsibilities**:
- Deliver a 12-session flexible model of therapy using bibliotherapy and creative writing
- Communicate effectively with clients to understand their needs and concerns
- Conduct assessments and manage an agreed caseload
- Deliver creative therapeutic individual and group sessions which support young people’s positive mental health, well-being and resilience
- Collaborate with partners including liaison with parents, schools staff and other stakeholders within confidential boundaries
- Work within organisational policies, procedures and guidelines including compliance with legal requirements to Safeguard Children, Young People and Adults
- Utilise IT systems for record-keeping and progress tracking
**Experience**:
- A professional qualification in counselling or psychotherapy (minimum Diploma level)
- A high level of understanding and compliance with legal requirements to Safeguard Children, Young People and Adults
- A track record of delivery of creative therapeutic sessions which support young people’s positive mental health, well-being and resilience
- Experience of working autonomously within professional guidelines and the overall framework of team policies and procedures
- A proven interest in literature and its uses in the therapeutic setting
- Competent in use of IT systems
