**Position Details**

Position Title: Front of House Supervisor
Responsible To: Theatre Manager Responsible For: Evening Supervision Volunteers
Casual Vacancy - Rota to be agreed in Date Issued: April 2023 advance / £12.00 per hour

**Job Purpose**

To supervise the theatre during public opening times and performances ensuring the comfort, enjoyment, safety & security of customers, visiting companies, audiences and staff and ensuring the highest levels of customer service.

**Principal Accountabilities and Responsibilities**

To open or close the building in accordance with the set procedure, as required.

To carry out a full fire safety check of the entire building at the start of each shift and immediately action or report any areas of concern.

To take a lead role in the managing of incidents and emergencies if required whilst on duty and ensure that volunteers are aware of their responsibilities for each shift, including ensuring that emergency procedures are in place and known to those who may need to deploy them.

To ensure all performance spaces are presentable and safe, ready to welcome audiences, maintained pre and post-show and to help ensure that performances or events run to schedule.

To supervise all volunteers whilst on duty, allocate pre and post-show tasks to all front of house staff. Complete a show report for every event.

To ensure bar or kiosk stock is rotated, that accurate stock records are recorded, and that floats are kept securely during and following a performance.

To be the main point of contact for patrons and volunteers, responsible for confidently answering queries, issue’s or handling complaints.

**Resources/Equipment/Material**

As one of the key holders of the building you will be responsible for the safe opening and closing of the Theatre when required.

**Supervision/Management of People**

Supervises users of the Theatre, hirers and volunteers.

**Knowledge, Skills, Training and Experience**

Good organisational skills

Excellent customer care and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative.

Good Administrative and IT Skills (including social media)

Ability to cope with the varying demands of the role.

The wiliness to take on training to be a first aider / personal licence holder

**Special Working Conditions**

The post requires working evenings, weekends, and bank holidays according to rota arrangements.

- Comply with and support others to observe Health and Safety Act 1974 procedures and processes and to include associated regulations and legislation
- To undertake any other duties and/or times of work as may be reasonably required of you, commensurate with your grade or general level of responsibility within the organisation, at your place of work or based in any other establishment.

**Job Type**: Zero hours contract
Contract length: 6 months

**Salary**: £12.00-£12.50 per hour
