Are you passionate about protecting children and young people from contextual harms such as criminal and sexual exploitation?

Do you have the skills to collaborate with diverse partners and drive systemic change within a local authority?

If so, we invite you to join our team as a Contextual Safeguarding Coordinator. In this pivotal role, you will work alongside professionals from the Local Authority, Police, Education and Health services to develop and embed robust safeguarding policies and procedures. Your efforts will be crucial in ensuring that our practice is effective and our community is well-informed about the importance of contextual safeguarding.

As our Contextual Safeguarding Coordinator, you will lead initiatives to raise awareness and build a comprehensive approach to safeguarding. You will be at the forefront of shaping and implementing strategies that address the complex dynamics of abuse and exploitation. Your role will involve training stakeholders, and continuously improving our safeguarding framework to ensure it meets the highest standards of effectiveness and responsiveness. Additionally, you will provide advice, support, and consultation to frontline team managers, social workers, partner agencies, and external service providers concerning extra-familial harm, while supporting the quality assurance process. You will attend CSOG, chair high-risk contextual meetings and mapping meetings to ensure the partnership has a clear understanding of issues related to county lines, serious crime, and all forms of exploitation. Developing links with neighboring authorities to ensure a coordinated response when issues cross borders will also be a key part of your role.

You will need to:

- Hold a recognised social work qualification
- Have extensive knowledge of legislation and guidance in relation to extra
- familial harm and contextual safeguarding
- Be able to evidence an ability to work in a multi-agency environment
- Be able to communicate effectively with professionals at all levels
