**Role**:
**Senior Geologist / Geoscientist**

**Purpose -** Provide a wide range of geological and geophysical support and technical advice to the business (including the Asset, Project and Wells teams), deliver subsurface licence commitments and work programmes, and identify and mature business growth opportunities. The role will support both gas production and carbon storage assets.

**Role Deliverables and Responsibilities**
- Provide detailed reservoir characterisation and description of SE assets via the use of seismic, log data, core, regional data and analogues.
- Responsibility for calculating in-place volumetrics for fields and discoveries.
- Interpretation and identification of infill well opportunities and maturation of contingent resources to reserves.
- Constructing and updating 3D static reservoir models and undertaking integrated modelling work with Petrophysicists and Reservoir Engineers.
- Plan and deliver new infill wells by preparing required documentation and working closely with Operation’s geologist and Wells team to execute delivery of new wells
- Provide geological input to carbon storage projects and evaluations, including reservoir modelling, risk evaluation and development planning
- Provide subsurface support for decommissioning activities / well abandonments
- Formulating and executing agreed technical programs for each asset.
- Project management of outsourced subsurface studies.
- Support the preparation of subsurface material and present internally and to regulators and joint venture partners.
- Work closely within other subsurface disciplines, and communicate effectively with Peer Reviewers, Assets and other appropriate business areas.
- Geological input into new business opportunity evaluations.
- Support peer review of internal technical work
- Challenge and provide technical feedback to JV partners

**Key Technical Skills**
- Excellent subsurface knowledge of the UKCS, in particular the SNS and EIS.
- Background in petroleum, structural, stratigraphic or sedimentological geology, or geophysics.
- Strong all-round Geological and Geophysical knowledge and interpretation skills.
- Wireline log and formation evaluation interpretation skills.
- An experienced user of geological interpretation software tools, such as Petrel and ArcGIS.
- An experienced user of probabilistic volume estimation software’s such as GeoX or REP.
- Experienced in the use of 3D geological modelling for subsurface evaluation of opportunities.
- Good commercial awareness with an understanding of project financing and cost control.
- Proven leadership-builder with the ability to work effectively in multi-disciplinary teams.
- Self-starter, highly motivated and well organised.
- Highly developed analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Naturally curious

**Education**
- Educated to degree level, ideally with an MSc in a relevant discipline.

**Work Experience**
- Broad subsurface knowledge of the UKCS with previous experience of development and production assets within the UKCS.
- Experience of working in an E&P operator and as part of joint venture groups.
- Exposure to drilling and well operations.
