Job description

This is a great opportunity for a dynamic, individual qualified in an appropriate discipline to join the college to support and guide animal care learners with online learning, classroom-based learning, and assessment and to coordinate the running of the animal care unit.

Working with a high level of autonomy, you will co-ordinate the effective and efficient administrative, clerical and overall responsibility of the animal welfare in the animal unit. You will also be assessing and supporting learning on animal care courses up to level 3 and supporting learners with practical activities.

You will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills as you will be the first line of contact with internal and external partners and clients. You should be flexible and adaptable and always maintain the high welfare standards of the animals.
- Appropriate vocational experience and hold a minimum qualification of Level 3 in Animal Care
- Experience of working in the sector and experience of animal husbandry.
- D32, D33/A1/TAQA Vocational Assessor qualifications or a level 4 teaching qualification or willing to work towards.
- Have the ability to work with learners of all ages in various learning environments.
- Be flexible, innovative and possess excellent communication skills.
- Sufficient ICT skills to use an electronic portfolio to track and monitor the learner’s assessment and progress.

You will be a highly self-motivated, energetic and driven individual, encompassing a strong sense of autonomy. You will possess strong presentation and communication skills and be able to demonstrate achievement of targets.

You will be a role model for college learners and will work to the classroom professional standards.

You will be expected to work on a Sunday morning and occasional Saturday cover.

The role will require you to embed the college’s values; **Respect, Integrity, Collaboration, High Expectations, Responsibility.
