**Accountable to**:IT/Estates and Facilities Manager

**Key Relationships**:Lead Nurse Partner, Estates and Facilities Assistant, Site Supervisors, clinical staff

**Salary**:LMP Grade 3 - £22,208 per annum, pro rata

**Job Summary**:
The post holder will have a responsibility for infection prevention and control audits and actions across the organisation. The post holder should be passionate about Infection Prevention and Control and be committed to supporting this through the organisation.

The postholder will be responsible for undertaking clinical audits across the practice at each site and developing and implementing action logs from these.

The postholder should be able to adapt to changes in policies or guidance at little notice and be proactive in cascading these changes to staff.

The postholder will also be responsible for the development and review of paperwork, audit documents and action logs.

We are also advertising for an Estates and Facilities Assistant role, which could be undertaken alongside this role.

**Key Duties/Responsibilities**
- You will work alongside the Infection Control lead for the Practice, along with the Estates and Facilities Managers, other team members and site supervisors, as well as the wider clinical teams.
- Responsible for supporting the Infection Prevention & Control team through effective communication with a wide range of individuals across the Practice.
- Maintains and develops own professional competence and seeks to extend scope of personal knowledge and scope and role of professional practice.
- To promote high standards of health, safety and hygiene.
- To take measures to ensure the safety of visitors and staff, reporting hazards, accidents or incidents and managing the appropriate follow up actions as detailed in the practice policies.
- Supports the Infection Prevention and Control in the promotion, development and sustainability of a patient safety culture.
- To ensure that work is completed within timescales, meeting the required quality standards e.g. level of service is provided, thoroughness, adherence to quality measures and protocols
- To use effective and efficient IT processes to support the role.
- To effectively organise activities to support the efficient working of the role.
- Provide training to other members of staff wishing to be involved in the audit process.

- Using appropriate infection control procedures, maintaining work areas in a tidy and safe way and free from hazards
- Reporting potential risks identified
- Act as Chaperone when requested by clinician and in accordance with the Chaperone policy.
