**ROLE DETAILS**:
**JOB DESCRIPTION**:
Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospice helps babies, children and young people who are seriously unwell, and their families, make the most of every day. The charity aspires to become a centre of clinical excellence for children with life-limiting or life-threatening conditions.

We’ve been on a major upward trajectory in recent years, with more children being supported, more major hospitals being partnered with and more supporters donating. We’ve transformed from being an enthusiastic start-up delivering care in the community, to a serious player delivering major impact both in the community and at our state-of-the-art hospice building, The Ark, opened in 2019.

Philanthropy & Partnerships, which covers Grants, Trusts & Foundations, Major Donor and Corporate income streams, is pivotal to Noah’s Ark - typically accounting for around 75% of the charity’s overall income. In real terms, that is £3m of our £4.1m fundraising target for 2023-24. Our current Senior Head of Philanthropy & Partnerships is overseeing a period of team augmentation and growth which our new colleague will continue. This includes the addition of a Special Events Manager and a second, part-time Philanthropy & Partnerships Manager.

Whilst we work towards developing a more diverse funding model - a key objective of our three-year ‘Making the Most of Every Day’ organisational strategy - growing income from Major Donors and Trusts will remain vital. The Senior Head of Philanthropy & Partnerships will work closely with the Director of Fundraising & Communications to dedicate time and attention to a strong portfolio of Major Donors, Corporate Partners and Trusts, and will contribute to the wider development of fundraising and communications strategies through senior team forums.

The post-holder will be key in taking our Philanthropy & Partnerships programme to the next level, building on key existing relationships, increasing income and opportunities generated by our team’s augmentation and growth and elevating the experience of supporting Noah’s Ark.

**ABOUT YOU**:
You will be a dynamic, agile, highly organised, dedicated and reliable individual, ready to play a significant role in income generation. An exceptional and eloquent communicator, excellent at managing your time and a natural relationship builder. You will have several years of experience in people and programme management within Philanthropy & Partnerships, and ideally a strong, broad background in fundraising. You will have a collaborative mindset and enjoy working with and managing team members with different personalities, styles of working and approaches to amitious goals. You will feel at home being a key person with whom colleagues across the fundraising and wider charity teams liaise, in order to create the greatest outcomes for the children and families we support.
- You consider yourself to have emphatically strong skills in fundraising from two of the three income streams under the Philanthropy & Partnerships umbrella: Major Donors, Corporates and Trusts
- Have proven yourself to be an incredibly effective manager
- Believe you could thrive in our award-winning team

At Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospice we are undertaking a major investment in our fundraising marketing & Communications capability. The team will grow from 13 posts to 20 over the next few months.

The charity has an enviable record in raising funds from philanthropy and trusts, but aims to diversify income by growing public fundraising, in particular community fundraising and regular giving. The majority of the investment is aimed at increasing capacity across all three sub-teams (Philanthropy & Partnerships, Public Fundraising, Marketing & Communications) but there is also a need to add to our skills base, for example, in media and public relations.

While the charity has existed since 1999 and had provided services in the community since 2006, Noah’s Ark really got going in 2020 when its first Hospice building was completed. This followed a major capital appeal which raised over £10m and benefited from many millions of pounds worth of gifts in kind and corporate donations. The end result is probably the most advanced children’s hospice building in the UK. A truly state of the art facility, which creates a wonderful light and airy space for the families that use our services and a fa
