Locomotive Firemen

Would you like to work at one of the most famous and unique attractions in Wales? Join us in 2023 as part of the Snowdon Mountain Railway team. We’re looking for seasonal full-time Locomotive Firemen to work on board our steam locomotives.

During our 2023 season trains will be running to Hafod Eryri, the visitor centre on the summit of Snowdon, 1085m above sea level.

The railway is due to open on 1st April and employment would commence prior to or after this date for a full induction and training.

Our working day varies through each department, meaning shifts can be long, applicants must be flexible and able to work weekends and bank holidays on a rota basis.

You’ll be working as a fireman on board our steam locomotives, tending to the fire which runs the boiler to power the engine. Much of the job is hard physical labour, such as shovelling coal into the boiler's firebox.

Due to the nature of the role all applicants must be over the age 18.

Contract length: 7 months

**Salary**: £10.42-£11.00 per hour
