Based from our yard at near Ely, Cambridgeshire, Total Hoist Solutions is a young and growing company, started in 2017, specialising in the supply and installation of construction hoists and related products and services. We pride ourselves on our safety, great customer service and our close working relations with our customers.

**Location**: Various - UK Site-based

**Purpose and Objectives**:
The main function of the role will be the installation, inspection, maintenance and dismantling of a range of construction hoists across the south of England and Midlands, and East Anglia.

Once trained you will be required to work on your own initiative, collaborating with customers and other site professionals including scaffolders, site managers etc. You will be required to work within written method statements and be able to anticipate and solve problems. On larger hoist projects you will be working as part of a two person team.

**Main Duties and Responsibilities**:
The role involves **heavy lifting and manual handling**, and **you must be comfortable and safe working at height as hoists can exceed 50m in height.**

You will be responsible for the inspection and maintenance of our hoists both on site and in our yard, with pre and post hire safety inspections, and preparation for hire. You will also be responsible for keeping the yard and storage/workshop tidy, ensuring a safe working environment is maintained at all times. You will be expected to be able to use small hand tools for all routine activities

You will be responsible for keeping hoist transport vehicle clean inside and out at all times, reporting defects requiring repair and to advise the office when vehicle mileage indicates a service interval is due.

Driving is an essential part of the job role as you will be expected to drive to / from sites around the country. You will be required to have a DVLA driving licence check and an enhanced DBS background check to include Children Barred List as required by our customers for working on school sites.

A respect for health and safety is essential and you must always work in a safe way, using the provided PPE at all times.

Previous experience of construction hoists is desirable and experience of working on main contractor construction sites would be an advantage. Experience in mechanical engineering, machine repairs, wiring diagrams would be useful. You will be required to learn how to repair and maintain our fleet of hoists.

Good communication skills and a professional manner are essential as you will be required to liaise with clients and other professionals on all levels within your role.

**Hours and benefits**

Core working hours are Monday to Friday 7am to 4pm but **flexibility is essential** depending on job location or site delays. Occasional Saturdays may be required depending on job demands.

Holiday entitlement in the first year will be 22 days rising to 25 days in the second year after training plus public holidays.

Auto enrolment pension scheme with employer contributions

Salary negotiable dependant on experience, with increases following training and probation period.
