We're looking for a Contract Officer to join our Natural Resources, Nuclear & Networks team, the purpose of the role is assess, review and mitigate contractual and commercial risks associated with tenders / future projects and to ensure that the team complies with Group and NRNN business stream Delegated Authorities, Group Standards and the like.

**Location**: Flexible, work from home / local office if preferred with periodic travel to sites when required

**Contract**: Permanent

**What will you be responsible for?**

As Contract Officer, you'll be working within the Preconstruction team, supporting them in ensuring that all contracts are entered in the most robust manner for Kier, on our preferred terms and on a sound commercial basis. The role is not limited to review of contract forms and the individual is required to participate and play and leading role in the overall risk management process.

Your day to day will include:

- Contract reviews and production of the relevant supporting documents (including PTPN, PTJV, SAM, SoTC, PTPA and the relevant gateway documents)
- Engagement and collaboration with the wider NRNN Preconstruction team across a range of tender opportunities in support of the shared objectives to improve Kier profitability within the context of clear risk management and sustainable growth
- Liaison with internal Kier stakeholders (Kier Legal, Group Treasury, NRNN senior management, Operational Delivery teams and Group Tender Risk Committee) to develop appropriate commercial strategies to control risk whilst supporting work-winning activities
- Liaison / negotiation with Clients and other external stakeholders as required to agree appropriate risk allocation / contractual drafting to support Kier objectives
- Management of the overall internal governance requirements for preconstruction activities to ensure compliance with Group and NRNN business stream requirements

**What are we looking for?**

This role of Contracts Manager is great for you if:

- Have a broad range of relevant commercially focussed preconstruction and operational experience
- Have in-depth working knowledge of a range of contractual forms. We predominantly contract through NEC forms but also through IChemE and other standard forms as well as bespoke contracts
- Work well within a collaborative team and able to support / develop the broader team's understanding of risk management as well as contractual terms
- Be able to coherently and concisely present key issues and proposed controls at internal Gateways to our senior team / stakeholders
- Manage the internal governance including workflow approvals process with appropriate support
